PAINTINGS WITH STORIES

I studied fine art at Winchester school of art and Northampton university. And spent some time designing hats for various hat manufacturers until I had my son in 1998. My partner became ill and I spent the next 10 years as his full time carer. Since his death I have turned my focus back to my art.

I never truly gave it up, as any artist will tell you your work is your life. So I've been creating a body of work around the themes of mental health and imagination, each with it's own narrative that you will find out your self...or some might come with a story attached. Its all an adventure for you as well as me!

Birds

Birds always make their appearance, from the more traditional  style to my bird women who always lead the way with their care.

Sometimes they might look dark or worrying but always remember they are always in my paintings to point the way.

Faces.

These are not portraits they come straight from my imagination. Faces have fascinated me forever I've been drawing them since I was a child sometimes as princesses but mostly as a symbol for imperfection, none of us are perfect, and all of us are very different on the inside. All of my pictures are based on the inner life.

Others

There are many others in this inner landscape like Glumpies, thought seeds and thought trees to name just a few and they are multiplying fast. Don't be fooled by the simplicity of the images some paintings deal with darker subjects a mile away from children's stories

The Robot boys will be appearing soon. as will the new painting

'The one called Morris'

So keep an eye on the gallery where all paintings, ink and watercolour pieces and drawings will be posted for sale.
